Linda Ikeji & Wizkid Finally Make Peace!!!

The feud between the self acclaimed most richest blogger in Africa, Linda Ikeji and multi award winning singer, Wizkid, came to an end yesterday after the two met at the office of Lagos state Commissioner of Police and finally signed some documents and made peace.
It can be recalled that Linda Ikeji had reported the threat issued by Wizkid on social media to have his 16-year-old brother beat up the blogger for publishing news on his quit notice.
According to Linda Ikeji, she chose to have the case settled out of court and not to prolong it because Wizkid and his lawyers had apologized to her on phone prior to meeting the commissioner of police.
“He tendered an apology to me and said he wasn’t a violent person, that he didn’t mean what he said, that it was just an emotional outburst. And then he asked for forgiveness.”
She took to her blog to narrate the details of the meeting and their agreements. Below is how she wrote it;
“So, I am going to write about this Wizkid matter for the very last time. Anything else after this will no longer concern me. So Wizkid and I met with the Commissioner of Police today and when the Commissioner asked me what I wanted them to do with the case…I told him that I wanted peace. And the reason why I insisted on peace and not to drag the matter further i.e go to court, is because Wizkid and his lawyers have been apologizing since Friday, up until today!
I spoke with Wizkid through his lawyer on Friday April 15th where he tendered an apology to me and said he wasn’t a violent person, that he didn’t mean what he said, that it was just an emotional outburst. And then he asked for forgiveness. Please continue…
But despite forgiving him, he still had to show up at the Police HQ to officially apologize and write an undertaken which he did today.
see a lot of negativity has come out of this case with Wizkid – with many folks bashing me for reporting a threat on my person. But here’s my consolation and why I am glad this happened. I promise you, especially the ladies, Wizkid will never threaten you with harm again.
At least not in public. I believe I am the last bus stop. He will think twice before threatening another human being again on social media. A police file has been opened for him, and he has been cautioned. The day he threatens another human being again with harm, then…
Having said that, I turned down taking a photo with him and the police commissioner this afternoon. One of his people took a pic of him and the commissioner with me in it and my people insisted they delete it. Not because I haven’t forgiven him, I just don’t need the extra drama.
I wish Wizkid all the best and will continue to celebrate him.
God bless us all.”

Basketmouth apologizes over attack on Goodluck Jonathan

Veteran Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth, has withdrawn his statement on the state of the nation, apologizing to former president, Goodluck Jonathan for disrespecting him.
In his last Instagram post, the comedian debunked rumors that he was one of the advocates for the emergence of Buhari’s administration.
He aired his stance on his alleged involvement in politics.
He said he never campaigned for President Buhari or any other politician (including former president, Jonathan).
He wrote: “Truth of the matter is that I would have voted anyone that could speak two words of English against Ex-president Goodluck Jonathan and that’s strictly based on the amount of greed and selfishness we witnessed from members of his (Jonathan’s) administration in the 6 years that he sat on the rock.
“I have said it numerous times that I am not a politician hence I try not to dabble in politics. However I think a few people interpret crying out against injustice by the one as campaign for the other.”
But barely 24 hours after airing his stance, Basketmouth apologized for appearing as though ‘disrespectful’ to Jonathan.
He, however, retracted his statement, stating he has ‘nothing but respect’ for the former president.
He wrote: “I have to sincerely apologise at this point that in expressing my opinion in my last post which was primarily to clear the air about who I campaigned, supported or rooted for or didn’t, I was disrespectful to a man I have nothing but respect.
“The last President may have had some wrong advisers and consequently decisions were made that will eventually impact on the economy, however I am sorry if it came across as an attack on the man Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
“We all desired a CHANGE, majority voted for it, now we have it, it is definitely a process, a tough one because I know the hustle is real…believe me, I know.
“I trust it can only get better, let’s just try to be patient,” he added.

Nigerian Musician Davido's Arrogance Get Him Dirty Slaps In Abuja

Dami Duro crooner Davido may not have bargained for what he got in Abuja the last time he went for a show sponsored by Nokia.
Davido, arguably, is the most sought after artiste in the current Nigerian music market.
The super entertainer who is an ambassador of MTN Pulse is multi talented and this explains why he’s a pianist, producer, composer and arranger of songs. Away from the appraisals, the tattoo loving artiste, going by the latest gist at our disposal might need to watch the way he talks to people and stop letting his sudden stardom derail him off radar like those who have come and gone be for him.
The fast rising star who would be collaborating with Senegalese Konvict Music boss and singer, Akon, on the remix of his rave making single, Dami Duro, we reliably gathered was recently harassed and hit by a uniformed man at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
According to the angry source, the musician was invited for the recently concluded Nokia Rap Battle show alongside other prominent acts by one Nosa, a fast rising music producer cum manager. The show ended and according to the source, Davido who was said to be drunk to stupor insisted on leaving in a friend’s car instead of going in the one the ones that brought him, and other top artistes and crew from the hotel.
He insisted though and Nosa being his host had to drive behind them, bubble later burst when the car conveying Davido was stopped by some military men for the routine check especially at that time of the night.
Our source revealed that the obviously tipsy Davido jumped out of the car and started boasting "don't you know me, what the fuck is wrong with you guys..." He started shouting about who he is and what guts the Mopol men had to stop his friend`s car.
This act infuriated one of the Mopol and while the musician was still ranting and boasting, he was landed a dirty slap and was threatened with gun to shut up if he does not want to be bathed in his blood.
The musician we were further told was immediately rushed back into the car by Nosa and his friend who had at that point got down from their bus and pleaded with the uniformed men that he’s actually a popular musician especially in Lagos and was coming from a show.
The story however didn’t end there as the angry Davido did not hesitate to transfer aggression to Nosa immediately they got back to the hotel. The musician we learnt went as far as telling the man who got him the Nokia performance deal to shut up and not talk when he’s talking else he would slap him the way the Mopol treated him.
Nosa, the simple lifestyle dude who we learnt might have been in the entertainment industry before Davido was born, just walked away because he saw Davido as a proud boy.
Nonso, we gathered`is currently a stakeholder in Limelite Records which has signed artistes like Freestyle, Munachi Abii and many more. "He could not withstand a boy of Davido’s age talk to him in such manner for trying to help him realize his mistakes and as such, had to quietly walk away. Anyway pride goes before fall so my advice is the billionaire son should thread softly." One of the eye-witnesses revealed to us.

Shocking! 75,000 children will die in Nigeria! Beware of 2017...

– According to U.N. Children’s Fund, Nigeria will lose 75,000 children next year

– Nutrition chief for UNICEF in Nigeria explains the horrible estimates

– The organisation states that  $115 million is needed to save children

U.N. Children’s Fund warns that about 75,000 children will die next year in Nigeria.

The horrible prediction is based on  famine-like conditions created by Boko Haram if donors don’t respond quickly.

The Fund stresses that’s far more than the 20,000 people killed in the seven-year Islamic uprising.

Arjan de Wagt, nutrition chief for UNICEF in Nigeria, notes that the severity of malnutrition levels and high number of children facing death make the humanitarian crisis confronting northeastern Nigeria perhaps the worst in the world.

This photo taken on September 15, 2016 shows a mother holding her young malnourished baby
De Wagt explains that most severely malnourished children die of secondary illnesses like diarrhea and respiratory infections.

The expert says: “But with famine, you actually die of hunger. Globally, you just don’t see this. You have to go back to places like Somalia five years ago to see these kinds of levels. Nearly 260,000 people died in Somalia between 2010 and 2012 from severe drought aggravated by war.”

On Thursday UNICEF doubled the amount of its appeal for Nigeria, saying $115 million is needed to save children. However, only $24 million has been raised so far.
Speaking about the whole society De Wagt stressed: “Of 4 million people in desperate need of food are about 2.2 million people trapped in areas where Boko Haram is operating or in newly liberated areas that still are too dangerous to reach by

In their turn aid group Doctors Without Borders states: “The crisis has reached catastrophic levels for people who have sought refuge in towns controlled by the military but who are entirely reliant on outside aid that does not reach them”.

However, de Wagt  admits that the agency continues to deliver some therapeutic food by helicopter and to train local health workers to treat malnourished children living in dangerous areas.

Doctors Without Borders state that the highest levels of starving children are in camps in Maiduguri, the northeastern city free of conflict where aid workers have been active for two years: “The mortality rate is five times higher than what is considered an emergency, with the main cause being hunger”.

Mourinho: I never wanted to sell Juan Mata at Chelsea

– Jose Mourinho says he never wanted to sell Juan Mata at Chelsea

– The special one reveals Mata asked to leave the Blues in January 2014

– Mata found starting spots in Mourinho’s team hard to come by

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says he never wanted to sell Juan Mata to Manchester United when he was still in charge of Chelsea.

The 28-year-old Spaniard was sold by the Blues to the Red Devils in 2014 despite being named their best player for the two previous seasons.

Media reports claimed Mourinho was looking to sell Matawhen he arrived at Old Trafford in the summer. However, the midfielder has been a regular in the side, scoring twice in six games.
Mourinho said: “First of all, I didn’t sell him. My job is not to buy and sell. My job is to coach, to work on the pitch and to advise my board about the transfer policy.

“Secondly, it was Juan that asked to leave and when a player asks to leave I think always you have to think twice.

“And the third point is that my idea for football with the squad and objectives we had at Chelsea is one thing, and the squad I have at Man United and the profile and what I try to do with this club is a completely different situation.

“So Juan at Chelsea in my project was one player, and Juan in my project at Man United is another thing.”

Mata started as Manchester United defeated Zorya in their Europa League group stage stage on Thursday.

Kanu distraught over mom’s death

Former Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu has been speaking over the demise of his mother who gave up the ghost on September 7 in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
The former Arsenal and Inter Milan forward has a reputation for frequently eulogising his now late mother, who is said to have told him that one day, he would make her proud with his football talent.

“The loss of Mama is hard to bear. She was a rock that stood by me and all my siblings,” Kanu said.
“She showed us equal love and affection, and always prayed for each and every one of us. Her support and prayers for me right from the beginning of my playing career till the end were invaluable.

“Her guidance also went a very long way into moulding me into the man I am today. She taught me to love, and to give. I will miss her, but God knows best.”
Burial arrangements are yet to be concluded, as the family is still getting to grips with the shock of her demise.

Tears as MMM crashes in Zimbabwe, millions lose money

Lots of Zimbabweans are in a financial trauma as you read this, all thanks to the popular Ponzi scheme called MMM.

Thousands of people living in Zimbabwe, among them civil servants, vendors and more, were said to have lost thousands of dollars to fraudulent online pyramid scheme MMM Global Zimbabwe after the system collapsed recently. The social financial network, which relied on an accelerating number of new members to pay off the old, abruptly terminated its services without any prior notice last week leaving participants stranded.

Iharare.co reports that these Zimbabweans joined the online investment scheme with the sole aim of “getting rich quickly”. It was said that the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe warned its people about the system, saying the scheme was fraudulent.

The scheme prides itself as a mutual aid fund under which recruited members contribute money to assist others and are promised investment returns of 30 percent per month. Some of the people left counting their losses told The Herald that they received emails that the scheme had been suspended until September 15.

One of the participants, Mr Tinashe Muza of Harare said: “All along things were moving in the right direction and we now have nowhere to claim our investments. When we started putting our funds in the scheme one could get assistance within seven days but things later changed to 14 days and when we were shut out the waiting period was 21 days. What it simply means is that the number of people in need of help has outnumbered the number of people joining. Right now we have nowhere to get our money which we invested.”

from its founder, Sergei Panteleevich Mavrodi of Russia. He founded MMM in 1989 and the scheme was declared bankrupt three years later leading to the disappearance of Mavrodi until his arrest in 2003.

While some people who were skeptical about the scheme started with small amounts, it is believed some poured in thousands of dollars anticipating higher returns. The RBZ said the schemes were fraudulent as existing investors were ‘paid money not from genuine market investment of their funds, but from contributions made by new investors, until a point when the scheme can no longer attract new investors.”

Currently, the scheme is in Nigeria and it is called MMM – Federal Republic of Nigeria. Lots of Nigerians are on the scheme and the scheme actually works (just like how it was working well at first in Zimbabwe). MMM Nigeria, is a Ponzi scheme that originated in Russia that has now set up in Nigeria. Wikipedia says the company was involved in one of the biggest Ponzi schemes in the 1990s. It was estimated that thousands of people lost up to $10 billion dollars.

Well, a lot of people think the scheme is legit and not a scam but the history of the company says the opposite. Only time will tell.

The Italian could sign Michael Keane from Burnley and Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson.

Burnley’s 23-year-old star could set Chelsea back up to £25 million.

3. Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta has rejected to rejoin with the former boss at Manchester City

Iniesta is currently club captain but that has not stopped rumours of a reunion with Guardiola.

NUPENG, TUC, NLC, others set to shut down Nigeria

Organized labour including NLC, TUC, NUPENG, PENGASSAN said they are set for mass revolt, civil unrest worse than the anti-SAP riots of 1989 over the propose sale of nationals assets.

– Labour said it is ready to shut Nigeria over the planned sale, which they argued would not profit the nation but a few privileged Nigerians

Should the President Muhammadu Buhari led FG proceed with its propose sale of nationals assets to fund the 2016 budget, organized labour including NLC, TUC, NUPENG, PENGASSAN said they are set for mass revolt, civil unrest worse than the anti-SAP riots of 1989.

The minister for Budget and Planning Minister, Udoma Udo Udoma however said the Federal Government would not sell critical national assets to shore up its foreign reserves as well as have funds to retool the economy against the current downward plunge.

However labour said it is ready to shut Nigeria over the planned sale, which they argued would not profit the nation but a few privileged Nigerians.

While reacting, PENGASSAN said; “Any attempt to sell these national assets will be met with stiff resistance from the Association, as PENGASSAN will galvanize every support, including that of our sister union and labour centres, to shut down this country by ensuring that every activity in the oil and gas sector is brought to a complete halt.

“Some opportunists in the cloak of businessmen and short-sighted politicians had earlier advocated the sale of  public assets such as the NLNG, four state-owned refineries, Nigeria’s stakes in Africa Finance Corporation, AFC, the nation’s airports and reduction of government’s shares in upstream oil joint venture operations and this was approved by the National Economic Council, NEC.”

“The proponents of the sale of national assets are those who have been actively involved in the operations of the nation’s economy in the past. They were part of those responsible for the country’s current economic situation.

“Moreover, such sales in the past, including the power and steel sectors privatization, were just a shift from public to private monopoly which has further worsened those sectors. “It is, therefore, the candid position of PENGASSAN that such plan should be thrown into the trash bin. Government should continue to seek better ways to address the present economic challenges and reduce areas of wastages.”

On its part, NUPENG through its General Secretary, Mr. Joseph Ogbebor, said; “We will resist the sale with all our might. It is not in the best interest of Nigerians. It will only compound the unemployment in the country.  It will also compound the restiveness and agitation in the Niger Delta. There is no way we are going to accept it. If the President is really a patriot as claimed, he should not yield to the pressure because enemies of the country are at work.

“However, our organs will meet either as NUPENG or jointly with PENGASSAN to deal with it. Certainly, it is unacceptable, unpatriotic, anti-Nigeria and must be rejected and resisted by all. We call on Mr. President to declare a state of emergency on the economy and summon an all-encompassing stakeholders meeting to brainstorm on how the present economic challenges can be quickly addressed.

“NUPENG is of the view that Nigeria is a big market and certain measures should be put in place to reflate the economy so that it will be an investors’ destination.”

Also reacting, the TUC through its acting secretary general, Simeso Amachree said;  “We are not going to accept it and we will resist appropriately. As it was done before, it is an attempt to take over the national assets. “Like we stated earlier, the idea should be dropped or they will incur the wrath of workers. “It is our thinking that if those clamouring for the sales pay their appropriate taxes, there would be enough money to bring the country out of the woods without sacrificing our national assets.

“Truly, we appreciate the concern of some sincere people in government, especially President Muhammadu Buhari, who is working tirelessly to fix the economy. But we get worried when people suggest we sell investments like NLNG which provided the money for the bailout of states when they could not pay salaries or concession our airports. On what grounds? “The Congress will mobilise and resist any further sale or concession of our national assets under whatever guise.”

Undergraduate caught trying to rape fellow student

UniAbuja undergraduate caught while trying to rape another student.

A male undergraduate of the University of Abuja (UniAbuja) identified as Monday, has been accused of attempting to rape a fellow student.

The 100-level student of biological sciences had apparently asked the girl to enter into a romantic relationship with him, and after saying she would ‘think about it’, ended up not giving him a straight answer.

Monday later became angry that she still refused his advances despite having accepted the N400 recharge card he had sent to her.

While pretending to be sick, Monday asked her to come over to see him, and when she came over, he pinned her down and forcefully tried to take advantage of her.

Sharing the story on her facebook page, Dorothy Njemanze, a Nollywood actress, said:
I was busy with school runs in Gwagwalada when I got a frantic call reporting the attempted rape of a first year University of Abuja (UniAbuja) student by another first year student of Biological Sciences called Monday. By the time I got there, the Chief Security Officer was just beginning to interview both parties, starting from the boy, Monday. He told of how he made his ‘intentions’ known to her and she said she would ‘think about it’ but he according to him, he didn’t understand why shy couldn’t give a straight answer, so he began making moves at ‘romancing’ her and feigns ignorance of her claims that from the moment he started, she told him to stop. He claims he only noticed her seriousness ‘when he crossed the boundary’. He is upset that he had sent her 400 naira recharge card before and doesn’t get why she will reject him.

The young lady insists she came by at all because he said he was not well. By the time she got in, he was playing loud music, so from the moment he began trying to have sex, she was shouting but the loud music drowned her voice. She insists he pinned her to the mattress and she tried strangling him with his necklace till it cut. After that, she reached for the laptop as a weapon and ripping it out turned off all the music then he released her because she could now be heard. She ran out and called for help. She got help and retrieved her phone and slippers and purse. Then she began reporting to their mutual friends and people she trusts. She insisted she injured him to. On demand, he took off his shirt and everyone saw injuries she gave him and more.

I got upset that the attitude towards gathering evidence is zero. There seemed to be a majority notion that as long as there was eventually no penetration, it is not so grievous a crime. All I insisted was to document all that could be seen as evidence before any statements are taken etc. I applaud the lady for speaking up. We need ensure the students and security men understand sexual harassment in its entirety and be sure whatever responses are in place take into cognizance victim needs.

I was very agitated when it seemed people were upset that ‘she was trying to make a lot out of something very small. More people need to understand what sexual violence is and legal provisions for victims and offenders. More details tomorrow. These pictures were finally taken at the crime scene. More shocking experiences tomorrow morning.

Many are trying to use victim blaming and shaming to force her to drop the case. Please, let us change the narrative and share this widely to punish the perpetrator, not the victim…”

Rooney blasts critics

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has called criticisms against him ‘rubbish’

– The England captain said that all negative comments makes him perform better

– The former Everton forward believes he will fit into any role handed to him by Mourinho

– Rooney also added that he relishes the chance to avenge defeat from City’s in the EFL Cup

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has said that a lot of his criticisms about his recent performance for the club is ‘rubbish’.

United captain has come under fire in the three defeats suffered by the Red Devils and have played full 90 minutes in losses to Manchester City and Watford.

However, the 30-year-old has made it clear that he is used to being under such scrutiny and all negative comments will not affect his performances for the club.

“I think I’ve had that my whole career – a little bit more of late, I think, but that’s football,” Rooney told MUTV.

“I listen to my coaches and my team-mates, the people around me, and I don’t really listen to what a lot of people out there are saying because a lot of it is rubbish.
“I have to focus, work hard, of course, and I’ve done that throughout my career. I’ve worked hard and tried to do my best for the team.”

The England captain was deployed into a deeper midfield position by Louis Van Gaal and while at Euro 2016 Roy Hodgson played him in a central midfield position for the Three Lions.

I’ve done that [played in different positions] throughout my career,” he said.

“I feel I can play in all positions but I think the manager has made it clear either I’ll play up front or in the number 10 [role] and that’s where he sees me playing.”

The former Everton striker also said that he is relishing the opportunity to avenge the defeat suffered in the hands of Manchester City in the EFL Cup fourth round match which will be played in Old Trafford.

“For me, I think it’s the perfect draw,” Rooney added. “With what happened in the league, it’s a chance for us to get revenge for that result.”

Rooney is United’s second highest all-time top scorerwith 246, three short of Sir Bobby Charlton’s 249 since joining the Red Devils in 2004.

BREAKING: Niger Delta Militants bombs Bonny export line

– Rampaging militant group, Niger Delta Avengers have bombed the Bonny 48 inches crude oil export line

– Avengers said they cannot be continuously fooled adding that the government cannot justify the indiscriminate targeting of Niger Delta youths while glorifying on these  victimization of law abiding citizens of the region

Rampaging militant group, Niger Delta Avengers have bombed the Bonny 48 inches crude oil export line.

According to the militants in a statement issued on its website, it strike team took out the export line at about 8:40pm on Friday, September 23.

Avengers said the action is a signature to “the over dramatization of the so-called dialogue and negotiation process on the side of President Muhammadu Buhari and his government.”

In a statement signed by Brig.Gen Mudoch Agbinibo, it spokesperson, the group said “since, the cessation of hostilities and the commitment of the PAN Niger Delta Elders and stakeholders team, the Nigerian government and her agents are turning the expectations of the Niger Delta to shameful scenes obtainable in Nollywood acts and as well intimidations, blackmails and continuous profiling of Niger Delta sons and daughters. This is only a wake up call; we may not have other way to say it better.

The avengers said it is still in favour of the dialogue and negotiations process “but we are warning against ” the peace of our time! We want the peace with honour”.

We will resist all actions undermining the ceasefire from side of the government and it security agents/ agencies. The world is watching, time is running against the Nigerian state; while we were promised that the concerns of Niger Delta will be addresses once a truce is declared, the activities of the government and her agents are not assuring enough, there has been no progress and no breakthrough.

Avengers said they cannot be continuously fooled adding that the government cannot justify the indiscriminate targeting of Niger Delta youths while glorifying on these  victimization of law abiding citizens of the region.

Meanwhile, Nigerians are surprised about the attack carried out the Niger Delta Avengers.
– A Niger Delta Stakeholders’ Summit to take place in Abuja has been rejected by a group led by Edwin Clark

– The group said the summit was an academic one which would not solve the problem in the Niger Delta

– They urged militants to be calm in the face of provocation

The Pan-Niger Delta Coastal States Stakeholders’ Consultative Forum led by Chief Edwin Clark has rejected the Niger Delta Stakeholders’ Summit headed by Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

Daily Trust reports that in a release signed by Chief Clark and 28 others, the group described the summit as contrary to the expectations “of all right-thinking persons worldwide”.

Clack claimed the summit was meant to shift focus from the main issue at a time militants in the region have decided on a ceasefire.

The Niger Delta forum insisted that the problem in the region did not require an academic summit but rather dialogue between the government and credible representatives from the Niger Delta.

They reaffirmed their resolve to “only engage the Federal Government through a credible dialogue process with accredited representatives of the Niger Delta Region to proffer long lasting solutions to the protracted Niger Delta insurgency and not through a summit.”

They said the oil production had increased to 1.7mbpd due to the cessation of hostilities by the armed agitators of the Niger Delta,

The group insisted that this should serve as springboard for negotiation rather than taking action that will bring militancy back.

The group claimed that “President Muhammadu Buhari, for over six weeks, since cessation of hostilities as a result of the intervention by the Traditional Rulers, Elders and Leaders of the Niger Delta, had not responded to the demands of the peoples of the Niger Delta for a credible and proper dialogue process.

“We note with happiness that the Region has been relatively quiet and stable, following The ceasefire brokered by the leaders of the Region with the expectation that the Federal Government will urgently interface and commence negotiation with accredited representatives of the Niger Delta Region. Rather than doing the needful, the Region has however, been over militarized of its creeks and other spaces….However, a significant achievement of the ceasefire is the increase in the quantum of oil production of 1.7 mbpd, according to the Hon. Minister of States, Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu.

We wish to state that almost a month has elapsed since militant groups in the region agreed to a 60-Day cessation of hostilities without the Federal Government constituting a negotiation team. Rather, the Office of the Vice President is organizing a summit of stakeholders purportedly for the Niger Delta. It is our considered opinion that for the Federal Government to contemplate a summit of this nature, rather than proper dialogue and negotiations with leaders of the region is to trivialize the gravity of the issues and opt for a cosmetic approach.”

The group however called on agitators to be calm in the face of provocation because “as a people we are still committed to the vision of a peaceful, prosperous, united and restructured Nigeria where no one is oppressed”.

Man's hand chopped off for stealing TV in Akwa Ibom

”THIS IS INSANITY! VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.
”According to online reports, the man pictured herein was caught at about 5 am at Aka Itiam, some say Ibiam Street in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State while trying to steal a flat screen TV from a football viewing centre. His hand was chopped off by a mob. Those who chopped off this man’s hand should be traced, arrested and prosecuted for inflicting grievous bodily harm. The perpetrators are criminals. They are worse than the man. We cannot continue with this type of insanity.

”This is bestial and hypocritical. The police should have been invited into the matter. I therefore call on the Akwa Ibom State Police Command to immediately arrest and prosecute those found culpable to serve as a deterrent to other misguided members of the public who are always quick to visit mob justice on those who commit petty crimes while praising the big thieves.”

Forlan urges patience for Pogba, Man Utd

Mumbai - Former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan said it's only a matter of time before underperforming midfielder Paul Pogba starts justifying his world-record price tag for Jose Mourinho's lacklustre side.
Forlan, now playing for India's Mumbai City FC, endured a torrid start to his Red Devils career but went on to become a fan favourite and believes that Frenchman Pogba will too.
Forlan said the 89-million-pound ($115.7 million, 103.7 million euros) signing from Juventus just needs a while to adapt from Italy to the English top flight.
"He played in England of course when he was younger and he has quality so it's a matter of time and he will be playing really well," the ex-Atletico Madrid star told AFP.
Pogba, who started his career at Old Trafford before rejoining after four trophy-laden seasons in Turin, turned in another below-par performance at the weekend as United slumped to a third consecutive defeat.
United ended their losing streak on Wednesday night, prevailing 3-1 over third-tier Northampton Town in the English Football League Cup, although Pogba was left out of the squad.
Mourinho was appointed United boss to mount a challenge for their first Premier League title since 2013, but after five games they are already six points behind bitter rivals Manchester City, who are yet to slip up.

Forlan, who struggled for goals but helped win the league during his two-year spell in Manchester, is not surprised that Mourinho's new-look side are still to gel and he urged fans to be patient.
"It's difficult to adjust -- new manager, some new players," the Uruguayan said in a phone interview from Dubai on Tuesday, where Mumbai were preparing for the third Indian Super League season.
- Cult hero -
"They have some good players and of course you need time for everybody, but unluckily in football, time is not what you have every time.
"But I think the directors and everybody knows that this could happen and that some games you have to be patient," Forlan added.
The former Uruguay international also won the FA Cup and Community Shield while at Manchester United from 2002 to 2004, but took more than a dozen games to score his first Premier League goal.
"I was playing only 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes for the first five months. That makes it difficult for any player in the world to adapt at a new club," he explained.
"When I had the opportunity to play more regularly in the next season I started to score goals and play well," added Forlan, who ended up a cult hero amongst United fans for scoring a double against Liverpool.
Forlan, who went on to play for Spanish side Villareal and Japan's Cerezo Osaka, will make his India debut when Mumbai line up against Pune on October 3.
He says he has rejected offers from clubs in England, Spain and Italy to play in the three-month Indian season, and has no plans to retire once his stint with Mumbai finishes in mid December.
"I would love to continue playing. I'm 37 years old and at a moment (in my career) where I don't have to impress anybody," said Forlan, scorer of 36 goals in 112 internationals.
"If someone wants me to be in the team they know what i am capable of.

Antalyaspor drop Eto'o in racism row

Istanbul - Turkish top flight club Antalyaspor said on Wednesday that their star striker Samuel Eto'o would be left out of the squad until further notice in a bitter row over comments on social media.
Former Cameroon international Eto'o, who in a glittering career has turned out for Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea, had written on his Instagram account he was not being given respect for his achievements as he is black.
Eto'o had moved to Antalyaspor in June 2015 as the keystone of the club's bid in the southern Mediterranean resort city to find national and even European success.
But his stint has turned sour in the past weeks amid intense rumours in the close season Eto'o would join Istanbul arch rivals Besiktas.
Tensions have been compounded by a dreadful start to the new season which has seen Antalyaspor reap just one point from four matches.
Eto'o had written on his Instagram account in Turkish: "Reminder -- perhaps some people do not feel respect for me because I am black."
"But I am not going to come down from the level I have reached. I have been in this game for 18 years," he added, posting a screenshot from Wikipedia of all the cups he has won.

Eto'o did not specify to whom he was targeting his criticism but later posted another message insisting it was not directed at Antalyaspor chairman Ali Safak Ozturk.
But Antalyaspor said in a terse statement on its website that a meeting of its board had decided to leave Eto'o out of the squad until further notice.
Turkish commentators had interpreted the remarks of Eto'o as a response to apparent criticism by Ali Safak Ozturk of his performance in the early season.
"No player is above the interests of Antalyaspor. Everyone must know their place," the chairman was quoted as saying.
Turkey is the latest stop in Eto'o's eclectic career which has taken him to high-profile and lesser known football hotspots around the world.
He played between 2011-2013 for Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala in the Caucasus region of Dagestan before the owner pulled the plug on its ambitions.

Fulani herdsmen attack: Community drags FG to ECOWAS

People of Agatu community have sued the federal government to court for failing to protect them from the attacks of Fulani herdsmen

– The community has filed a lawsuit against the government at an ECOWAS court where it has demanded for N10bn compensation

– The money, the community says, is compensation for deaths, injuries and properties destroyed in the attacks by the Fulani herdsmen

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) is reporting that members of Agatu community in Benue state, which recently suffered several attacks from Fulani herdsmen, has dragged federal government before an ECOWAS court.

NAN reports that in an application made available to it on Wednesday, September 21, the Agatu people say they are demanding a N10billion compensation for the failure of the government to protect them and bring to justice the rampaging Fulani herdsmen.

The community alleged that thousands of people were killed and properties worth over N1 billion were destroyed by the herdsmen. They claimed that the compensation they are demanding is for the alleged deaths, injuries and destroyed properties.

The Agatu people say that they want the ECOWAS court to also issue an order directing the federal government to take measures to secure the community from such attacks in the future.

The application read in part: “The defendant did not take legislative, judicial or security measures to prevent protect or assuage the continuous killings and destruction of properties in Agatu.
“Despite the wholesome level of human rights violations by the so called “Fulani herdsmen” in March 2016, the defendant’s top functionaries – The President; the Minister of Interior and the Inspector General of Police – have refused to visit the victims and the communities.

“All the defendant and its agencies do after every attack is to lay the blame on “Fulani herdsmen” and then refuse to prevent further killings and destruction of properties.”

NAIJ.com recalls that Benue state governor Samuel Ortom vowed that a law to prohibit open grazing of cattle in the state will soon be enacted after several attacks from the herdsmen.

The governor made this disclosure in Makurdi, Benue state capital on Monday, June 27, at the end of the Town Hall Meeting he held with stakeholders in the three senatorial zones of the state.

See hospital where babies are kept in cartons (photos)

Following the recent healthcare crisis in Venezuela, South America, an opposition took to their social media handle to reveal how newborn babies are kept in cartons, immediately after delivery.

Heartbreaking images were posted online by Mesa de la Unidad Democratica, showing dozens of tiny infants lined up in cartons, with each baby wrapped in a blanket in half a cardboard box with their medical notes sellotaped to the front on a piece of paper.

The party captioned the photos: “So the world knows: In our neonatal units at the Dr Domingo Guzman Lander hospital they are being kept in cardboard boxes due to a lack of incubators.” However, the Venezuelan Social Security Institute President Carlos Rotondaro has begun investigations.

Mourinho calls his critics 'football Einstein'

– Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has hit back at his critics after Northampton win

– The Portuguese manager called those who tried to undermine his achievements ‘football Einstein’

– The former Chelsea boss expressed satisfaction with the Red Devils performance in the EFL Cup

– Mourinho’s men will face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in another Manchester derby

Jose Mourinho, the Manchester United coach has lashed out at those trying to undermine his achievements in the wake of United’s poor run of form.

The Red Devils returned to winning ways after defeating League One side Northampton by 3 – 1 in the third round of the EFL Cup and Mourinho was quick to label his critics ‘football Einstein’.

Speaking to MUTV Mourinho said: “I know that some football Einsteins – football is full of Einsteins – I know that they tried to delete 16 years of my career.

“They tried to delete an unbelievable history of Man United football club and to focus on a bad week with three bad results. But that’s the new football – it’s full of Einsteins.

“I can understand clearly the disappointment if the fans are disappointed with the last week. I understand completely but I’m sure that with the team going back home [against Leicester City on Saturday] they will be behind the team like they always are.”

The former Chelsea manager showered praises on his team for delivering a positive performance with goals from Micheal Carrick, Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford.

“We deserved to win clearly,” said Mourinho “[It was as] difficult as I was expecting, but we were totally in control for the first 35 minutes and then we were again in control for the last 45.

“The team was in control from the beginning and the substitutions were just a contribution but overall the team was completely in control. So, difficult match but overall a positive performance.”

It will be a Manchester derby in the fourth round as Mourinho come face to face again with his eternal rival Pep Guardiola when United welcome Manchester City at Old Trafford on October 25.

In a Premier League fixture played on September 10 at the same venue, the Citizens ran away with a 2-1 win as goals from Kevin De Bryune and Kelechi Iheanacho for City and a Zlatan Ibrahimovic solitary strike ensured victory for the away team.

Bishops flee Anambra over planned Biafra protest

– Bishops converging in Anambra for a meeting were forced to cancel due to the planned Biafra protest

– IPOB had called on all business activities in the region to be shut down

– The bishops agreed to leave for fear of being trapped in the state

Ahead of the planned protest by the indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) in the south east region, the five-day standing committee of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion has been forced to end abruptly.

The group had declared Friday, September 23 as a stay-at-home day and had ordered all businesses in the region to be shut.

Vanguard reports that the meeting which was attended by 170 bishops was scheduled to end on Friday but was forced to close on Wednesday due to the protest.

Most Reverend Nicolas Okoh who is the primate of Nigeria pleaded with the group to relax its order as it would affect their departure.
He said: “IPOB threatened to shut down markets and other institutions and restrict movement in the entire South East. We are not delving into the reasons for their agitation, but we are asking them to wait until we leave Awka on Friday.

“If they go ahead to carry out that order, we may be trapped in Anambra as the Niger Bridge is the only exit route from Anambra State for most of the Bishops. So, people should help us beg them to allow us to go.”

Although the programme had just started, the bishops decided to leave so as not to be caught in the secessionists’ plan of total shut down.

One of the bishops from the north expressed concern about the planned protest.

“We are human and so we had to put our heads together and that is why we decided to cut short the conference.

“That is the most ideal thing to do in the circumstance. I will leave this evening and most others will do same. Those who cannot make it today (yesterday) will do so early tomorrow (today). There is no need waiting; it doesn’t make sense.”

Human corpse found in Saudi airplane wheel well

– A corpse has been found in the wheels of an aircraft that recently returned from Nigeria

– The plane belonged to a Saudi Arabian carrier known as Flynas

– It is believed that the body was that of an unfortunate stoaway

A Saudi airliner which recently returned to Saudi Arabia from Nigeria was undergoing a routine check at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport when something strange was found. A dead human body.

The plane operated by the Saudi Arabian carrier known as Flynas had just returned to the kingdom after transporting a load of pilgrims back to Nigeria after the 2016 Hajj

The Saudi airline workers conducting the routine check found the body in the wheel well of the plane on Wednesday, September 21.

According to the Saudi Gazzette: “At around ‪12 p.m.‬, an unidentified corpse of a dark skinned person was found in the back wheel storage.”

The general belief is that the corpse belonged to a stoaway who tried to enter the country by sneaking into the aircraft wheel wells. This is a common practice which many engage in despite the very real risk of death.

According to reports the relevant authorities have been contacted regarding the discovery. Meanwhile, it is quite sad to note that since as far back as 2009, Nigeria has lost at least 10 people to the yearly Hajj pilgrimage.

The pilgrimage which is undertaking by Muslims has been continually beset by mishaps, to the extent that one Muslim cleric warned all attending to write their wills and prepare to die if they are attending in 2016.

My arrest will lead to Jonathan's imrprisonment - Tompolo

– Tompolo claims that the government plans to use his arrest as a way of getting at Goodluck Jonathan

– The former militant vowed to return to militancy to help his people

– He however denied that he has any link to the Niger Delta Avengers

The embattled former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Government Ekpemupolo, has raised alarm that the reason the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government is after him is to help arrest Goodluck Jonathan.

Ekpemupolo popularly known as Tompolo has been in hiding since he was declared wanted by the government and has been arraigned in absentia by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at a Federal High Court in Lagos.

In an interview with Sahara Reporters, Tompolo claimed that the former president was the primary target of the Buhari administration and he was just a victim of circumstances.
“The intention of the government was to arrest former President Goodluck Jonathan. But they feel that arresting Jonathan without arresting me may be difficult, that was the reason why they are after me.”

Tompolo also spoke about his father, Osen Ekpemupolo, the Tunteriwei of Gbaramatu kingdom who died on Wednesday, September 7.

He said the invasion of soldiers on May 26 in Kurutie town in the Gbaramatu local government area where his late father led to his death as he was physically battered.

“It happened in the early hours of Saturday May 28, 2016 when the Nigerian Army, under the guise of looking for members of the Niger Delta Avengers and of course my humble self, who they have accused of being behind the activities of the group without any evidence, invaded Kurutie town, where my father, Chief Thomas Ekpemupolo, was staying. They ransacked the whole building and brutalized him. He sustained an injury in one of his legs.

We took him to Warri for medical attention after one week of the incident, due to difficulty in movement from the village to Warri because of the activities of the Army.

He was admitted at Lily Clinic, where thorough medical tests were conducted on him. The doctors later advised that his lower limb should be amputated because complication had set in as a result of the injury. We agreed to this and that was done. However, he later died in the clinic after two months.”

He denied the allegation that he was a sponsor of the Niger Delta Avengers that has been terrorising the Niger Delta region by bombing oil and gas pipelines.

He said security operatives were only trying to frame him for something he knew nothing about.

“I have refuted the allegation. Even the government knows that I am not a sponsor of the Niger Delta Avengers. They are only looking for something to nail me.”

The former militant castigated the judiciary which he described as loyal to the government rather than being independent.

“I was the first person to sue the government and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) because my company’s account was restricted unjustly, but till now, the court has been playing funny, as the court has refused to hear the matter. Instead, it has been adjourning the case at every sitting. I pray that the Nigerian Judiciary should be independent, otherwise it is difficult for a perceived enemy of the government to get justice and judgement.”

Tompolo threatened to return to militancy as he said that is the only way he can help his people.

“That is where I come from, and the whole of my life I have stayed there. This is just a temporary setback as I prefer to stay in the creek than any other place.

“That was why I led the struggle for a better living condition for the people so that, in the shortest possible time, the creek is urbanized so that the people will live like their counterparts in the urban areas.”

On the current economic challenges Nigeria was going through, Tompolo said it was evident that the Buhari administration was clueless.

“Now Nigerians have seen the way the government has run the economy aground because they are clueless, and only chasing shadows. It is difficult to give what you do not have.”

Jonathan has been accused of being the sponsor of militancy in the Niger Delta region especially the Avengers although the former president has denied this accusation.

This became necessary as a splinter group, The Reformed Niger Delta Avengers (RNDA), released a list of militants’ sponsors on Saturday, August 6.

>An anonymous source close to the former Nigerian leader backed his stance:

“If former President Jonathan wanted chaos in Nigeria and the Niger Delta, he would have refused to concede the election to General Buhari and the APC,” the person said.

She was expecting only one baby when she got these twins

Different strokes for different folks! Life deals with people in different ways. If you are familiar with this saying, you will have a unique understanding of life.

So many times, people’s expectations are cut short, one feels sad for them because they wasted their time and energy anticipating the occurrence of a particular event. Some have so much hope that something will happen; while they stay in wait for this expectation to be met, they do not grab the opportunities staring them in the face.

We also have to accept the fact that some people’s lives have changed because they did not know they were going to get something big. They probably live their lives quietly and do not expect that something huge will change their standards forever and make them most sought after.

In the case of a pregnancy, most women know they are expecting a child and would have started making preparations for it. The euphoria of setting up a nursery in the house while buying clothes that will suit the weather and season in which the baby will be born takes their time.

It is possible for women to get surprised after their delivery when the sex of the baby is different from the initial sex that was predicted during antenatal. One cannot tag this a disappoint if a healthy baby is being born.

Also in situations whereby expecting mothers get surprised by giving birth to twins or triplets when they are expecting just a baby is awesome. It could be tagged a relatively good news if the supposed father do not abscond because of the expenses that comes with taking care of more than one baby at a time.

For people who think it is quite impossible for mothers not to know what they are expecting, Taslima Khatun Uno’s story will change that perspective. She is a mother of conjoined twin girls who did not know she was carrying twins because the doctors told her she was having a baby.

As much as she looked forward to the birth of her baby, she was not expecting this as she is now stuck with the thought of having them separated and if at all it will be possible since the babies were born joined at the head.

She named her daughters Rabia and Rukia; she has to deal with the anxiety that comes with the thought of seeing them separated and living normal lives even though she does not know when that will ever happen.

Uno delivered her babies through medical operation in a clinic in North Bangledesh about three months ago. She and her husband did not know that the twins were conjoined until after the birth.

All she heard was the doctor barking orders for the babies to be given medicine in order to save their lives. It was when she heard two distinct sounds coming from them that she started to worry about what the babies might have been.

She saw them the morning after the operation when she had recovered. The euphoria of giving birth washed off immediately as it was replaced with thoughts of how to feed them and hold them. She was concerned about how she will take care of the babies as at the time she had them.

The whole thing can be considered to be a nightmare giving the fact that she was expecting only one baby even though she got two that requires serious medical attention. The twins are being observed and monitored in order to know if a surgical separation can be done on them and how soon it can be done.

Find below some of the pictures of the conjoined twins and their parents:

Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez's sons join Barcelona

The year is 2035 and Barcelona have just won another treble. Thiago Messi and Benjamin Suarez scored over 100 goals between them, while captain Milan Pique stepped out of his dad's shadow with a fine season in defence.
That is, of course, a long way from becoming a reality, but the first step was taken on Monday when Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Gerard Pique's sons took part in their first session with the FCBEscola.
Mundo Deportivo report that the trio are part of a group of no more than 25 children between the ages of three and five -- Thiago and Milan are already three and Benjamin will turn three later this month -- and that they will have sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays.
The Catalan newspaper adds that the programme's intention is to familiarise the kids with the ball and instil the Barca DNA in them from an early age. Messi, Pique and Suarez were all reportedly present to see their sons at this week's first session.
Messi had admitted earlier this month that Thiago isn't much of a footballer yet, though. The Argentine international hopes joining the FCBEScola will help him come out of his shell and develop a love for the game.
Maybe spending time with Pique's son will boost Thiago's thirst for football. Milan's mother Shakira revealed last year that her eldest child is already a fanatic.
"Right now, Milan is obsessed with football," she said. "He's the biggest Barca fan on the planet. He sleeps with the Barca jersey on, he sleeps with the ball, he doesn't miss one match. He knows every single team, including England teams. He wears the t-shirt of all the teams."
Time will tell how good Thiago, Benjamin and Milan turn out to be, but if there even half as good as their dads, they won't be bad.

Claudio Ranieri hopes N'Golo Kante gets hero's welcome on Leicester return

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri hopes N'Golo Kante will get a hero's welcome when he makes his first return to the Foxes.
The midfielder quit the champions for Chelsea in a B£32million deal in the summer after helping them win the Premier League last season.
He was the only key member of the title-winning team to leave the King Power Stadium following their shock success as Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and Kasper Schmeichel signed new contracts.
Kante returns with Chelsea in the third round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday and Ranieri is looking forward to their reunion.
"I am very happy and I will give to him a very warm welcome back and I am sure also our fans they must appreciate what he did last season and give him a warm welcome," he said.
"I will be very happy if our fans clap him at the beginning and afterwards he is an enemy.
"They must understand that when a big team arrives it is difficult to say no. For this reason I say thank you to Jamie Vardy and his family, and to Riyad when they decided to stay here. For us it was important to maintain everybody."
Schmeichel will sit out again as he recovers from the concussion he suffered on Friday which saw him miss Saturday's 3-0 win over Burnley.
Ron-Robert Zieler will start in goal but Matty James and Nampalys Mendy (both ankle) are not yet fit.
Eden Hazard, meanwhile, is confident Antonio Conte will inspire Chelsea to recover from their first defeat of the season.
The trip to Leicester is their first game since a 2-1 loss at home to Liverpool on Friday condemned Conte to his first competitive defeat since his appointment as the club's manager.
Hazard appears rejuvenated under the Italian, and after a disappointing 2015-16 season he believes Conte's communication and motivation skills are key.
"He's a top guy, he tries to speak a lot with the players, to talk a lot, and we are pleased to work with him," the 25-year-old told Chelsea TV.
"He has the passion to do his job. He gives everything on the bench and we try to give everything on the pitch.
"He's a top manager, he's a top man.
"During games I try to stay focused, but sometimes when I watch the game the day after (on television) I see him. He's a little bit crazy sometimes on the bench."
Conte's arrival has also led to a resurgence in the form of Diego Costa and was followed by the summer recruitment of David Luiz and Michy Batshuayi, among others.
Ankle and anterior cruciate ligament injuries to John Terry and Kurt Zouma mean Luiz is likely to retain his place after making his first appearance back at the club against Liverpool.
Conte could yet decide to rotate his side and hand appearances to fringe players like Cesc Fabregas and Pedro, and Hazard is optimistic about the squad's depth.
"Everybody is happy to see (Luiz) back," he said. "On the pitch he is a warrior. He brings that mentality. He wants to win everything. This is what we need.
"Diego is (also) a top player, he is on the pitch to score goals, he has the desire to score a goal every game and it's always good to play with him. He's sharp.
"(Batshuayi) is learning a lot. He is trying to speak English. I am helping him. I don't know if I am a good teacher but I try. He gives everything on the pitch and in training. In him and Diego we have two very good strikers."

Dele Alli signs new Tottenham deal

– Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli signs new contract that will tie him at the club until 2022

– The England playmaker says he is happy to be playing at Tottenham

England International Dele Alli has agreed a new Tottenham contract, tying him to the club until 2022.

According to a statement on the club’s website, Alli has been handed improved terms at White Hart Lane despite earning a new five-year deal in January.

Speaking in an interview with the club’s website after they announced his new deal on Monday, September 19, Alli said he is still coming to terms with his explosive rise in the game.

He said: “I remember when I was young and I wasn’t playing football and I was looking up to the footballers and looking on the websites and seeing what they were doing.

“I’m still the same kid as I always have been and nothing’s changed for me off the pitch – I’m still the same person.

“I’m happy to be here and playing at Tottenham. Personally, I can’t think of anywhere better with the fans, the manager we’ve got here and the young team – it’s a great place to be.”

Alli enjoyed a great season at Spurs, ending the term with 10 league goals and nine assists, having joined the club in February 2015.

His impressive performance at White Hart Lane handed him a place in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for the Euro 2016 championship.

6 Indecent ways Nigerian girls dress to church to confuse pastors

The church stands as the yardstick for decency simply because its believed to be a gathering that pleases to God. Most church leadership focus on preaching the gospel and so most times, people appear however they like to the holy gathering, forgetting to consider decency in their style and fashion.

Indecency in church is like corruption in government; it ruins things. As much as the gospel preaches that God looks only inward and not the outward, the effect of indecency goes beyond the surroundings of the church. It poisons the minds some innocent members, it paints the church in a bad light to the public and a host of negativity that shouldn’t come from the church.

From club to church

. Definitely forgot to go home to change for church after hitting the club

Mourinho accuses Luke Shaw for Man Utd's recent losses

– Jose Mourinho has openly criticized his players for their recent defensive frailties

– Manchester United have lost three consecutive matches within the space of eight days

Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho has blamed his team’s recent blushes on his defence line especially Luke Shaw, after losing for the third straight time in a week.

Mourinho who has not suffered three successive competitive defeats since his days as Porto Manager in 2002 accused Luke Shaw for Juan Zuniga’s decisive second goal.

The former Chelsea coach also lamented that his players failed to learn their lessons in the derby defeat to City and Feyenoord in their Europa League match.
Mourinho said: “The first Man City goal and this second goal against Watford – you can find an incredible similarity, which is Kolarov has the ball in a difficult situation in the corner and my players, instead of going up to press they decide to give space.

“And here for the second goal, Amrabat receives the ball and our left-back is 25 metres from him instead of five metres. But even at 25 metres, you have to jump and go and press, but no, we wait.

“This is a tactical but also a mental attitude. It’s something that doesn’t become perfect in a couple of weeks.

Mourinho’s men started the season brightly winning their first three matches to Bournemouth, Southampton and Hull City with an all round impressive teams’ performance from the Red Devils.

However, the former Porto manger has been under fire since United have been handed three back to back defeats in league and continental competitions.

Manchester United slipped further down to seventh after Spurs and Arsenal won their week 5 fixtures against Sunderland and Hull City respectively.

United travel to Northampton for a League Cup game on Wednesday, September 21 and square-up against defending champions Leicester City at Old Trafford in a week 6 fixture.

Agent finally discloses why Pogba joined Manchester United

– Paul Pogba left Manchester United for Juventus in 2012

– The player chose to return to the Red Devils  rather than join Real Madrid

– Pogba’s agent discloses the player’s decision

Mino Raiola, the agent of Paul Pogba, explains why the player chose to return to Manchester United.

Manchester United  finally signed Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba in a deal worth over £100m ($131m). The 23-year-old, who left United for £1.5m in 2012,  returned for a fee that surpasses Gareth Bale’s £85m move to Real Madrid in 2013.

In four seasons Serie A, Pogba, helped France reach the Euro 2016 final, won four league titles and qualified for the 2015 UEFA Champions League final.

Pogba joined United from French club Le Havre in 2009 as a 16-year-old, but made just a handful of appearances before his contract expired in July 2012.
The player was linked with a host of clubs during the transfer window including Real Madrid.

Speaking about the transfer Raiola said: “Yes, Manchester United had no Champions League and weren’t champions but they needed us the most. United had been talking to us for two years about Pogba. They had taken my player Sergio Romero and we had kept the lines of communication open.”

He continued: “We knew we had interest, we spoke to Juventus, they really wanted to try for the Champions League, they gave him the No.10 shirt and we said we would give it one more year. Then I worked on an exit plan. We had two offers from the Premier League and two outside.”

The agent explained: “Paul said United was in his heart, Woodward wanted him at United a year ago and Mourinho had wanted him at Chelsea too, so when the two combined we knew it was right. For the player, Real Madrid would have been easier, La Liga, Champions League, but he wanted the greater challenge.”

He concluded: “I think Manchester United showed the world this summer that they were not going to stand still. They want to be the best. They sent out a message with the transfers they did that this is the biggest club in the world.”

See how air force bombarded high level Boko Haram meeting with fighter jets

The Nigerian Air Force has continued its offensive against Boko Haram terrorists with its latest attack resulting in the death of some of its members.

The military has taken effort to rid the country off the operation of terrorists and its latest offensive targeted Boko Haram fighters who were having a meeting.

In a statement and video released by the air force, it was revealed that the offensive badly damaged the terrorists as those that managed to escape scrambled away in fear.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), in continuation of its efforts at finishing the remnants of the Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT), conducted several air strikes at suspected BHT locations on the outskirts of Tumbin Gini and Tumbin Kayewa Northeastern Borno State on Friday 16 September 2016. The air strikes were as a result of ground based intelligence and successive Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance reports obtained from several missions flown by NAF platforms. In a video released by the NAF, some of the terrorists could be seen at one of the rendezvous where they were believed to be holding a high-level meeting when NAF jets were scrambled to hit the locations.

A post-strike battle damage assessment of the strikes revealed that the rendezvous was badly damaged with many casualties while those far from the vicinity could be seen scrambling to safety. The aircrafts involved in the air strikes are the NAF F-7Ni and the Alpha jets.
The air offensive of the NAF have continued to deny the terrorists any hiding place and room for maneuver. This has enabled unhindered advance by the surface forces as part of the ongoing Operation GAMA AIKI.

It will be recalled that the NAF had, in an earlier operation successfully conducted air strikes on BHT Camps at Tumbin Rego on 26 August which led to the death of many high ranking members of the group.
